Death of a Hero and clearing the passages

So I wrote a little short story called Death of a Hero today. Just over 1800 words, most of those dialogue about an exchange between an not so "super" hero and a PR firm he hired as consultants to rehabilitate his image.

It was an idea I jotted down months ago and I've been kicking myself because I haven't written in a while, so I blocked off an hour today and typed it up. I liked how it turned out, so I sent it over to Critters, to get slashed open, to see if I could submit to a magazine or something.

I thought it was pretty funny, but won't post here yet.

There are all these rules and conditions about publishers not taking in pieces that have been posted online, that it makes me wonder if I should keep posting stories here at all, or if I should instead submit and submit and submit to places to get published.

I have a feeling that the second answer is the correct one. I got such a kick out of doing this, that I want to put everything I write here, but if I ever do come up with something really good, it would probably work against me.

Sigh.

Anyway, if I shop it around and get nowhere, I'll post here. I think that'll be my MO moving forward, actually, unless it's a silly little thing that I'm not confident of.

Anyway... it's Friday, but I still got some real work to do and I used up all my lunch hour on this short story so..
